The straw festival event in Banjarejo Village, Gabus District, was officially opened on Wednesday (10/17/2018). The opening of the festival was carried out directly by the Regent of Grobogan Sri Sumarni in the field of Banjarejo Village. Accompanying the regent, Grobogan Regional Police Chief AKBP Choiron El Atiq, Kajari Puji Tri Asmoro, Acting Head of Military Affairs Edi Santoso, Education Office Amin Hidayat, and a number of other relevant officials.

The opening of the festival was marked by cutting straw ropes placed at the entrance to the location of the activity. Barongan entertainment also enlivened the opening of the first new straw festival held in Banjarejo Village.


The implementation of the straw festival received special appreciation from Sri Sumarni. In fact, the number one person in the Grobogan Regency had raised his thumbs with regard to the festival initiated by the Kades Banjarejo Ahmad Taufik.

"The event that was held today was extraordinary. Frankly, I applaud the creativity that the Village Head of Banjarejo has done to optimize the tourism potential of his village, "said Sri.

Meanwhile, Kades Banjarejo Ahmad Taufik stated, this event was held to commemorate the second anniversary of Banjarejo Tourism Village. The festival plans will take place until 28 October

"On the anniversary of the first anniversary, we made a Koran together with Cak Nun. For this time, we have made a straw festival which has never been held in Grobogan, "he explained.

In this festival, there are 59 replica works from the straw material. The details, 24 replicas in the form of various animals and 35 other replicas in the form of scarecrows, houses, bicycles, huts, and boats.

"The festival participants are not only from the seven hamlets in Banjarejo. But there were from surrounding villages and one participant came from Salatiga.
